Answers:

What Is Bailey Manor?

Bailey Manor is a privately owned, licensed memory care center with 3 convenient locations in Manchester, Winchester and Fayetteville Tennessee.

What are your criteria for admission?

Here is a list of the criteria we evaluate:

  • Evacuate building in 13 min or less with verbal cueing and/or assistive devices
  • Able to communicate basic needs verbally or non-verbally
  • Able to feed self
  • Able to ambulate or propel self in wheelchair
  • Able to transfer self to and from sit to stand upon request
  • Behaviors present no harm to self or to others

What happens if the resident’s abilities no longer meet these criteria after they are already a resident?

The criteria are for new admissions only. Once admitted, residents have the option to stay even if they no longer meet the original criteria, or age in place.

What does age in place mean?

Age in place means that once a resident moves into Bailey Manor, whether or not their physical and mental state declines, they have the right to remain here.

What is the payer source at Bailey Manor?

We are a private pay facility, though we do accept VA Benefits and Long Term Care Insurance. Bailey Manor also partners with Hospice when needed.

What do you do to encourage residents to stay mobile?

We provide a full Mobility Program that includes:

  • Daily walking group
  • Staff assisted walking schedule 2 to 4 X daily with one to one staff assist
  • Staff directed exercise group 3 X weekly
  • Indoor and outdoor walking available
  • Licensed nursing assessments for physical therapy needs
  • Strong relationships with community home health companies

What do you do for residents who are incontinent?

We have an Incontinence Management Program where, upon admission, we evaluate each resident, as needed, for bowel and bladder incontinence. If needed, we provide staff directed toileting every 1 to 2 hours depending upon individual needs, and we provide personal hygiene care with each bathroom visit.

It’s important to me that my relative eat well. How does your dining program work?

At Bailey Manor, we have a full-time dietary staff that prepares all of our food from scratch. Breakfast is served between 7 and 9 a.m. and is made to order. The lunch menu provides multiple food choices, and dinner is a continually changing and nutritious meal plan. Along with meals, there’s a large variety of snack choices available to residents 24 hours a day. If you are concerned about any dietary issues, there’s a dietician on staff who is available for family consults and evaluation of the continually changing nutritional needs of the memory care resident.

What professional medical services are available at Bailey Manor?

We have a nurse practitioner who visits each facility as needed. We partner with outside medical services that provide in-house care. A podiatrist provides quarterly visits. We also offer the services of a Licensed Social Worker. All professional medical services are billed through insurance.

What safety/security tactics do you provide for memory care residents?

With the progression of the Alzheimer’s/Dementia diagnosis, our facility provides the security required by residents at high risk for elopement. We provide a safe and secure environment for our residents, giving families peace of mind, with features such as a secure walking route, closed patio and much more.

What if my relative doesn’t need full-time care? What do you offer?

We offer both Day Care and Respite Care for individuals who don’t need full-time care. These services give a bit of relief to caregivers, whether they work, have other responsibilities or just need a day, a weekend or a vacation to recharge their batteries. Each of these programs offers a range of services and is priced reasonably.
